Our style is constantly evolving, what one may consider photojournalism, editorial, modern, traditional or art is all relative. A prominent question often asked by our clients is “How do would you explain your style? ” to which we would reply “How would you describe your family?” The images that are captured throughout the entire day are a complete reflection of the relationships that are present on your wedding day and the excitement surrounding the events that take place. Family and friends will unite after many years if not for the first time on your wedding day, the joy and excitement throughout the wedding day along with all the other emotions you and those around you feel will be quite apparent. Through all of these raw emotions, candid moments and possible portrait time allocated “our style” will be defined by the presence of mood on your wedding day.
It’s hard to come up with one word or one line that describes our style, a good amount of time could be spent explaining our approach to covering the weddings that we are commissioned to photograph. To put it into the simplest of words; our style is a blend of all things important – candid images of family and friends, portraits of our couples and their families documented both candidly and editorial in the pose, along with an attention to style and details. We believe that images should remain as organic in nature as possible focusing on the quality and clarity right from the moment of capture. While 80% of your wedding day will be captured in a candid nature, there is a rough 20% that will need more direction; such as family portraits and prompting/cueing couple shots. The most valuable thing we feel like a couple we bring to your wedding is a masculine and feminine perspective that through experience and a vigilant sense of our surroundings we can appreciate each tiny detail as well as being in tune with each moment that passes by – unseen and unscripted.
At each and every event that we cover as a couple, we bring with us a vision of uniqueness without a predetermined set of standards that we will plan to shoot. Each client is unique and they deserve images that represent that. We ourselves understand this, as we both were raised in very different cultures.
We have a vested interest in the capture of your wedding day as a whole; candids, portraits & the details because we strive to bring out the best in everything we do.
We are always asked, “How are you guys able to work together all the time, being husband and wife?” – We honestly would not have it any other way! Each one of us knows what the other is thinking and as we are shooting it becomes a dance – ensuring that each aspect of your event is sealed within a capture.
Our personalities – or so we are told! It’s important to know that you have hired photographers that will blend into your day capturing images in a non-invasive unobtrusive way. We simply love people, the more the merrier – we could not imagine our lives having turned out any other way than that of being wedding photographers. Some people sky-dive for an adrenaline rush, but we shoot weddings – no two weddings have ever been the same and because of this, it allows us to offer one-of-a-kind images to our clients and never become bored of doing what we love!
Our images! – We truly believe that images should be organic in nature. You can rest assured that our images will be clear, sharp, and polished. In 20 or 30 years your images will have outdated themselves and the nostalgia of the day will quickly flood back to you each and every time you look back at your images. Within our images, you will not find Instagram style actions applied or a blurry facade, but instead, you will find real images that you will be proud to share with family and friends as you look back on the moments and embrace those very same moments as they live on through your images.
